Congratulations!

You are embarking on one of life’s most transformative journeys: motherhood!
Wanting to breastfeed your baby is natural, but doing it doesn’t always come easy. If you have questions or concerns about breastfeeding, we can help. As International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) with extensive training and experience helping families to overcome breastfeeding challenges, Ana Estorino Uribasterra and Andrea J. Blanco offer prenatal and postpartum lactation education, assistance and support. Our practical, evidence-based approach empowers parents to make informed decisions and achieve their breastfeeding goals. For every mother and baby pair we work with, our focus is on creating an individualized plan that helps make breastfeeding work for them, even after a rocky start. Some of the situations we've successfully helped mothers and babies work through include: latching difficulties, injured nipples, breastfeeding after breast surgeries, low milk production, baby weight gain problems, and transitioning from supplementing and bottle feeding to breastfeeding.

It is our passion to assist mothers and babies on their breastfeeding journey and we take great care to accomplish this in a nurturing, compassionate manner. If you have questions or concerns about nursing your baby, please contact us and we will help you get the answers you need.

Call for a private lactation consultation if a mother has...

  • sore or damaged nipples
  • worries about her baby getting enough milk
  • left the hospital supplementing with formula
  • past breast surgeries (implants or reductions)
  • flat or inverted nipples
  • questions about pumping and/or continuing to breastfeed after returning to work
  • someone telling her she "can't" breastfeed
  • concerns or barriers that are preventing her from enjoying breastfeeding
  • considered weaning because she is overwhelmed, even though she wants to breastfeed

Call for a private lactation consultation if a baby is...

  • having difficulty latching on consistently
  • not gaining weight normally
  • not wetting 6-8 diapers or having 3 or more bowel movements every 24 hrs. by one week old
  • refusing the breast (instead cries or sleeps)
  • fussing, pulling and/or choking at the breast
  • being supplemented with formula after breastfeeding
  • unable to stick his/her tongue out over the gum ridge & lower lip (tongue-tied)

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is an allied health professional who
specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. IBCLCs must accumulate thousands of breastfeeding
counseling hours and pass a comprehensive board examination to demonstrate their competency.
