Prenatal Services
Private Prenatal Consultation (45 minutes to 1 hour): Consultation with expectant parents to discuss preparation for breastfeeding, provide helpful reading materials and address their particular concerns. If desired, a visual assessment of the mother's breasts will be done to determine if there are any potential anatomical concerns that need to be addressed.
$50.00
Group Breastfeeding Class (2.5-hour class): A comprehensive course covering the milk production process, what to expect the first few days and weeks with baby, and avoiding common mistakes that can undermine nursing. In addition, participants will practice positioning and latching-on techniques.
$50.00 per mother/couple (one set of materials)
Private Lactation Consultation
First-time Visit (usually lasts 1.5 to 2 hours) includes:
- evidence-based breastfeeding education, support and answers
- a detailed history of maternal and infant health and breastfeeding experience
- physical assessment of mother's breasts and baby's oral anatomy
- baby weight check, including pre- and post-feeding weights
- observation, assessment and hands-on assistance throughout one entire feeding
- a personalized and detailed breastfeeding care plan
- a report to the mother's physician and/or baby's pediatrician
- follow-up care via phone or email when problems persist
$90.00
Follow-up Visits may be necessary if dealing with complex issues (usually lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour) include:
- assessment of progress
- baby weight check, including pre- and post-feeding weights
- re-evaluation and updating of care plan
- a report to the mother's physician and/or baby's pediatrician

Fee for Service
Loving Start Lactation Services accepts only fee for service at the time of service. Payments can be made in cash, via credit card, or with a check made out to Loving Start Lactation Services. This practice does no billing for insurance reimbursement and is not a provider on any insurance plan. Reimbursement by insurance providers is not guaranteed, but filing by the client is suggested.
